That the computer would up and run again. It generally doesn't that way that it will. There's a communication dilemma recognized by Gene. On some level Lovell questioned hasn't exact answers. Seems to suggest, is Swigert going to take responsibility? That must have been harrowing in life for Swigert. To properly understand this. What they did that had never been done before, if you listen to the second half of interview was power down the command module. They "threw away the book." Swigert was no doubt properly focused. Problematic in communication and otherwise the book, details of the work were then verified on the ground. Lovell describes powering down the "attitude balls", without which they might have not been able to see angles for steering. The "Attitude Controller" was found to be enough for steering the ship. But what they did Swigert largely in control of, was to power down the entire command module. The process continually reported in detail, was then verified by the ground controllers. Why the activity is so important, connected people, connected over some understanding pointing to $ solve.
